Why is MatchPlanner free?
MatchPlanner grew out of everyday coaching life – as the tool that didn’t exist yet: squad, schedule, tactics and training in one app that the players actually use. It keeps being developed because it is in action on the pitch every single week – not because there is a business model behind it.
That’s also why there is no premium logic: no stripped-down free version as bait, no features behind a paywall, no subscription. Every team uses the same app with the same feature set – from a casual grassroots side to a youth academy.
And because “free” so often means “paid for with your data”, here is the opposite: MatchPlanner shows no ads and sells no data. Your team’s data is stored on servers in Germany, is visible only to your team and stays yours.

Is MatchPlanner really completely free?
Yes. Every feature is available to every team without restriction – there is no premium tier, no trial period that expires, and there are no hidden costs. What you see on this website is the full feature set.
Do I have to enter payment details?
No. All you need to register is an email address and a password. There is nothing to cancel, because there is no subscription.
Are there limits on players, teams or features?
No. You can create as many players, events and drills as you like and manage several teams with one account. The free version is the only version – nobody gets more than you do.
How does MatchPlanner make money?
Right now, it doesn’t. MatchPlanner is an independent project born on the training pitch – with no ads, no selling of data and no investors demanding monetisation. Your data is stored on servers in Germany and belongs to your team.
Will MatchPlanner stay free?
MatchPlanner is built as a free product, and there are no plans for paid features. Should the model ever change, you will hear about it early and transparently in the app.
