MatchPlanner is not a startup product or a corporate app. It is the project of a coach who writes software – and uses the app on the pitch every week.
The story
Four tools were three too many.
It started with four tools: the squad in a spreadsheet, the drills in text files, the line-up on a scrap of paper and “who’s in on Saturday?” in the group chat. Each one sort of worked – together they ate hours every week.
So an app of its own took shape, at first just for one team. Whatever proved itself on the pitch stayed; whatever nobody used was thrown out again. Once it was clear that other teams have the same problem, MatchPlanner was opened to everyone – for free.
It is still built by one person, who stands on the touchline every week. That keeps the app close to the pitch: what is missing there goes in – what nobody needs there stays out.

Who is behind MatchPlanner?
Furkan Gönel – software developer and grassroots football coach. MatchPlanner is not a company product but a one-person project; address and contact details are in the legal notice.
Is MatchPlanner still being developed?
Yes, continuously. The app is in use every week, and whatever is missing on the pitch is next in line. Requests and bug reports go straight into development via the contact page.
Can I delete my account and team again?
Yes, both yourself in the app: the owner deletes the team in team management, and you delete your own account in your profile with your password – no notice period, no e-mail to a support desk. If you are the only owner of a team with other members, you hand over ownership first or delete the team.
How can I support the project?
By using MatchPlanner and telling others – at your own club, among fellow coaches. And with honest feedback: what is missing, what is annoying, what works well. MatchPlanner doesn’t take money.
